The purpose of this activity is to share the name of someone who we are, or were, a caregiver to, or someone who cared for us. In 2017, approximately 28% of Canadians had reported caring for someone with a long-term health condition, disability, or aging need in the past year. This number is expected to double by 2036 as Canada’s population ages.
Participation in this activity will increase your knowledge and understanding of co-workers’ caring experiences. This increased understanding will create a more compassionate culture, better supporting the needs of employees who are also caregiving. Caregiving employees will ultimately feel more supported and less stigmatized.
