Pallium's Education Evaluation Research Grant

Supporting the evaluation of palliative care education programs across Canada.

About the Grant

The Education Evaluation Research Grant is a vital part of Pallium’s mission to enhance palliative care through research and education. The Grant will support the development of fresh evidence related to palliative care educational programs in Canada and their impact on clinical practice, patient experience and the performance of health systems.

This grant provides up to $15,000 for innovative research initiatives that have the potential to impact the palliative care educational programs, and ultimately advance palliative care for everyone in Canada.

Previous projects

In June 2023, Pallium Canada launched the call for applications for the first Education Evaluation Research Grant.

Research teams were asked to propose initiatives that evaluate palliative care education offerings in additional provinces or territories as part of the Canadian Atlas of Palliative Care.

Consideration was also given to initiatives that evaluated the impact of primary palliative care course offerings (Pallium’s LEAP courses or the national Palliative Care ECHO Project) in any care setting utilizing Pallium’s Education Evaluation Research Framework.

2023 recipients

Dr. Kelly Fenn, Physician Lead for Community Palliative Care in Grey Bruce, in partnership with Brightshores Health System’s Research and Innovation team, has been awarded Pallium Canada’s Education Evaluation Research Grant to assess the impact of Pallium’s LEAP courses provided to health care providers in the Grey Bruce Region.
